Get to Know Me
Having spent many years looking for answers to my own challenges parenting a child with mental health challenges, I developed a passion for helping other parents.
My areas of expertise include communication, conflict resolution, and effective parenting. I have a degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctor from Berkeley School of Law (formerly Boalt Hall). I am a certified mediator, having worked as a community mediator for the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, as well as in business settings such as the California Bankruptcy Court. I am trained as a parent coach in the CRAFT method by the Center for Motivation and Change (CMC), and I have served as a parent coach for the Partnership to End Addiction since 2020. I am a certified Emotional Intelligence coach, and I have completed advanced certification on the Invitation to Change program from the CMC.
I look forward to learning what we can do together.

"Carey has had such a positive impact on my life. Through her knowledge and understanding, she has helped me navigate the challenges our family has faced. She has such a warm, non-judgmental way of allowing me to openly share my thoughts, and she has guided and inspired me to see things in a different light and gain a different perspective.”
